Large-scale residential extension to a detached property in West Byfleet, creating a generous open-plan kitchen, dining and living space with vaulted ceiling and full-width glazed doors to the garden. The works also included a new oak-framed entrance porch to the front elevation. Structural engineering covered the design of steel beams to carry loads from the existing structure, new foundations, and the oak frame porch design.

Hip-to-gable loft conversion to a semi-detached property in Surrey, creating a full-width bedroom suite. Works involved restructuring the existing roof, designing a new steel ridge beam and purlins, and producing a structural frame design for a rear dormer. Party Wall matters were managed with the adjoining neighbour throughout.

Victorian Mid-Terrace Full Renovation

A complex structural project on a mid-terrace Victorian cottage in Farncombe that grew significantly in scope as works progressed. The project included piling to address poor ground conditions, full roof restructuring, and Party Wall matters with two adjoining neighbours. Chris coordinated with multiple specialist contractors over a two-year programme, providing full structural oversight from start to finish.

Structural engineering advice on the replacement of wall cladding to an existing precast portal frame industrial building in London. The project required detailed research into appropriate fixing methods for the new cladding system to the existing precast frame — a technically demanding brief given the need to avoid re-fixing into the original precast elements in a way that could compromise structural integrity.
